Ranking Criteria
Drills rank by zone depth unlocked per cost, not raw multiplier alone. A billion-cost end-game drill is F-tier if bought at rebirth 0 with an empty plot. Rankings target free-to-play progression — see best drill path for purchase order and all drills for names.
S Tier — Breakpoint Drills
Drills that pay for themselves within one session at their intended rebirth band:
- Golden / Platinum tier — Early game king; first major floor breaks.
- Electric / Cyber tier — Opens reliable Rare/Epic farming.
- Obsidian / Molten tier — Legendary zone gate; survives multiple rebirths as re-buy target.
- End-game Celestial tier — S-tier only when Primordial zones fund it; otherwise trap.
A Tier — Solid Upgrades
- Steel / Iron tier — Mandatory first upgrade; short lifespan but required.
- Emerald / Diamond tier — Mid-early bridge; good until Electric.
- Frostbite / Void tier — Deep world access; buy after Obsidian pays off.
Pair with power upgrades when floor blocks stall.
B Tier — Situational
- Drills skipped in linear shop chains because next tier is affordable — opportunity cost only.
- Robux-exclusive drills for players who value time over grind — A-tier for buyers, B-tier ROI for F2P comparison.
C Tier — Traps
- End-game drill bought early — Cannot reach zones to repay cost.
- Duplicate tier purchases — Shop replaces drill; no need to rebuy same tier.
- Max drill before rebirth when drill resets — Burned cash; see rebirth guide.
Rebirth Recovery Drill Order
Post-rebirth S-tier sequence: first affordable → Golden → Diamond → Electric → resume normal path. Speed matters more than tier prestige during recovery. Track personal recovery times with rebirth calculator milestones.
Future Drill Patches
New GoldenClover Studios drills can obsolete old S-tiers overnight. We re-rank after patch notes. Compare new releases against block HP in latest worlds before calling them meta.
