PC Controls (Keyboard & Mouse)
Drill Blocks for Brainrots uses standard Roblox third-person controls on desktop. If you have played any brainrot drill tycoon — including Drill for Brainrots — the layout will feel immediately familiar.
| Action | Control |
|---|---|
| Move | W A S D or Arrow Keys |
| Look / Camera | Move Mouse |
| Drill / Mine blocks | Hold Left Mouse Button |
| Jump | Spacebar |
| Zoom camera | Mouse Scroll Wheel |
| Run (if enabled) | Shift |
| Open chat | Enter or / key |
| Menu / Roblox overlay | Esc |
Drilling tip: Hold the left mouse button while facing a block cluster. Your drill activates automatically — you do not need to click repeatedly. Position yourself so the drill hits the weakest block in a column to break through floors faster. See our beginner's guide for zone transition techniques.
Mobile Controls (Touch)
The mobile port adapts the same mechanics with on-screen buttons optimized for thumbs. Layout may shift slightly after UI patches, but the core inputs remain stable across Roblox tycoon ports.
| Action | Control |
|---|---|
| Move | Virtual joystick (left side) |
| Look / Camera | Drag on empty screen area |
| Drill / Mine blocks | Hold Drill button (right side) |
| Jump | Jump button (right side) |
| Interact / Pick up brainrot | Tap prompt when near unit |
| Shop / Menu | Tap icons on screen edge |
Mobile players should enable Roblox's Dynamic Thumbstick in settings if the default joystick feels stiff. Lower graphics quality can also reduce input lag during crowded servers when many players drill the same zone.
Gameplay Actions Explained
Beyond movement, these actions drive progression:
- Pick up brainrots — Walk over a dropped unit or tap the collect prompt. The brainrot enters your inventory until placed.
- Place on plot — Return to your base, select an empty pedestal, and confirm placement. Placed units start earning CPS immediately.
- Collect cash — Walk over your plot's collection zone or tap the collect button. Offline earnings accumulate here too — see offline earnings.
- Open shops — Interact with drill vendors and power upgrade NPCs in the lobby area. Compare options on our all drills page before purchasing.
- Zone descent — Break through the floor block at the bottom of a zone to enter the next depth layer. Higher drill power required each floor.
Camera & Movement Tips
Underground zones get cramped. On PC, zoom out with the scroll wheel before drilling vertical shafts so you can see the floor break point. On mobile, two-finger pinch zoom works if your device supports it in Roblox.
Jump (Space / Jump button) helps hop over broken terrain and reach brainrot drops on ledges. Some event zones add platforming segments where jump timing matters — check the events page when limited maps rotate in.
If your character gets stuck in block geometry after a floor collapse, reset character through the Roblox menu (Esc → Reset). You rarely lose inventory items on reset, but placed plot brainrots are unaffected regardless.
Controller Support
Roblox supports Xbox and PlayStation controllers on PC when enabled in Roblox settings. Drill Blocks for Brainrots maps the standard Roblox layout: left stick moves, right stick aims camera, RT/R2 drills, A/X jumps. Controller drilling feels smoother for long sessions but precision placement in tight tunnels can be harder than mouse aim.
Console players (Xbox Roblox app) use the same mapping. There is no native Switch support at time of writing.
Accessibility & Settings
Open Roblox's in-experience settings (Esc → Settings) to adjust:
- Graphics mode — Lower for FPS on weak PCs; Automatic for most players.
- Camera sensitivity — Raise if drilling feels sluggish to aim.
- Shift lock — Toggle Shift Lock (Shift key on PC) to keep the camera behind your character while drilling forward.
- Music / SFX volume — Lower music to hear drill break cues that signal floor transitions.
Shift Lock is strongly recommended for PC players pushing deep zones — it keeps block columns centered while you hold the drill button.
